The Big Chill at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire has announced new additions to the festival's stages include pioneering Danish DJ Trentemøller (Live), punk legends Buzzcocks, the New Orleans Hot 8 Brass Band, Kiwi dub/reggae seven-piece Fat Freddy's Drop, maverick composer John Metcalfe, experimental Japanese recording artist Cornelius, and Delta blues band Agnostic Mountain Gospel Choir.

New artists for the Club Tent which will house everything from Colombian street fiestas to the Hoxton warehouse scene. Confirmed live acts include Son Of Dave, Memory 9, The Mules, Tom Mansi & The Icebreakers, and Vincent Vincent & The Villains.

Breaks, drumÂ’nÂ’ bass, and soulful house will be brought to festival goers by artists like Shaanti Sound System with DJ Krush, DJ Manga, DJ Joe Claussell, and Benji B, Roots Manuva & DJ MK, DJ Luke Vibert, DJ Vadim, Daedalus, Need2soul with DJ Joe Claussell (Body & Soul, NY), Ron Trent (Chicago), Ame (Germany, Sonar Kollectiv), Rap Saunders, and Kartel DJs.

Urban Latin beats come to Big Chill with Hackney Globetrotter presenting DJ Toy Selectah (Mexico), DJ Russ Jones, and Very Be Careful (live). Elsewhere, The Friends & Family crew will feature Flying Lotus (live), dub-step, DJ Toddla T ft MC Serocee, DJs Caspa & Rusk, and Charlie Dark Soundsystem.

Artists and partners already confirmed for the festival which takes place from Friday 1st until Sunday 3rd August include Leonard Cohen, The Mighty Boosh, Bill Bailey, Bomb the Bass, John Shuttleworth,The Thievery Corporation, The ICA, The BFI, Underbelly, The Roundhouse, Plaid with Random Dance, Portico Quartet, Rachel Unthank and the Winterset, and Ara Malikian.

New for 2008 are 'The Big Warm' with storytelling and song around campfires; the 'Moonlit Picture House', a late night, outdoor cinema with short and feature films; a comedy tent wiuth a line-up of established and up-&-coming comics; 'Words in Motion' is expanding, bringing more poetry and storytelling; A Victorian Fun Fair; and children's playground within the Family campsite to give little'uns a space to play close to home. There's also the 'Underbelly Comedy Area' which houses a new comedy tent.

Big Chill have also released details of their Kids Stuff programme. Violinist Ara Malikian presents 'My First Four Seasons' guiding kids through the classical Vivaldi piece in a highly entertaining way. James Campbell will host a proper 'Comedy Club 4 Kids' with suitable content. Plus, for big and little kids alike, John Hegley has a special show 'Festival Creatures'.

The famous Camden venue, the Roundhouse, increases the entertainment available by adding performances in the new Roundhouse Big Round Tent, as well as adding a programme of creative projects for 13 - 25 year olds. These include workshops for aspiring musicians, artist and media producers and will be incorporating film, singing/songwriting and MC-ing. Plus, there's the chance to make special radio broadcasts for Big Chill Radio. For young artists there is also graffiti and photography projects. Note, that under 18's must accompanied by an adult.

On-site facilities include a shop selling groceries & newspapers, bars, food stalls, merchandise stalls, cash point machine and a 24 hour cafe amongst other things. Alcohol cannot be brought into the main arena but is permitted in the camping areas (but NO GLASS!).

'Early bird' tickets are available, Individual Adult or Children's (now renamed 'Teen tickets') tickets are available, and live-in vehicle tickets, are also on sale, at the same prices as for 2007.
These prices are:-
Adult: £129.
Student: £110 (with Amnesty International membership, for full-time students only) Teen: £60.
Live-in vehicle: large £80, small £40.
Anyone attending in a live-in vehicle must have a campervan ticket. Awnings are allowed and a maximum of 2 tents with each vehicle. Cars are not allowed in this area.
