Anyone wishing to buy a ticket for this year's Glastonbury Festival who didn't register is being offered a new chance to register and buy tickets for this year's event.
Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis explained, "We've had a lot of enquiries from people asking if they can register, especially now they realise it's still possible to buy tickets. This will give them the chance to see the best line-up of any festival this summer."
Registration will re-open at 4pm on Tuesday 8th April and anyone who has registered and has their application accepted will be sent a confirmation email. Seetickets will send you a second confirmation e-mail within one working day to confirm whether or not your photo has been accepted and a link to buy tickets immediately. Please note that there will be no editing facility for late registrations, so please ensure that all your details are correct, and that your photo is of a suitable size and standard, before submitting your details.
Registration, involves filling in a simple form and supplying a passport photograph, and full details can be found at www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk.
The registration process was implemented in 2007 as a measure to stop the touting of Festival tickets. By preventing touting, the Festival is able to make sure tickets aren't sold at inflated prices, and that all the profits can be passed on to the Festival's associated charities. Festival organiser Michael Eavis says: "We still think this is the best and fairest way to make sure that the tickets go to people who actually want to come to the festival, rather than touts."
Please note that anyone who registered last year will still need to register again this year. Festival goers can now tick a box to enable their registration for this year's event to be able to be eligible to buy tickets in 2009 and 2010. "We couldnt do that last year because of data protection issues," said Eavis, "so unfortunately anyone who registered in 2007 will need to do so again this year."
