Organisers of the first annual Rockstar competition supported by Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis, musician Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios are offering new talent an extra three weeks to enter the competition to win a slot to play Glastonbury Festival in 2009.

All unsigned music stars and bands hoping for their big break need to visit the official website at www.rockstarbands.co.uk, download and complete the entry form and return it to the competition return address before Thursday 19th June 2008 to ensure their entry is received and ready to be judged.

Organisers have extended the deadline by three weeks from Wednesday 28th May 28th due to a high demand for entries and to allow for even more unsigned bands and artists to enter the competition.

Event organiser Kelly Sumner said, "We have received an overwhelming amount of entries so far and we are extending the deadline after the exciting new offer of a two week recording session in The Real World Studios. There are so many unsigned bands and artists out there wanting to get their big break and there are few greater breaks than the prizes up for grabs for the winner of Rockstar 08!"

The competition's prize now includes a live set at Glastonbury 2009, recording sessions in Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios to produce a debut album, and a headline slot at the Pilton Party.

RockStar 08 open to everyone, young old, groups or soloists, with the only stipulation being that any entrant must be unsigned.
