This year's Endorse-It In-Dorset Festival has much more than just music on offer for festival goers attending over the weekend of Friday 8th to Sunday 10th August at Cranborne Chase, Dorset.
Being a family friendly festival there's much for little 'uns to do in this year's Kids Area including the 'Rainbow Kids Workshops' where from noon children of all ages can get involved in arts and crafts. These include costume making with a wild west theme, T-shirt making, plaster and clay workshops (self portrait workshops build your own face out of clay), willow weaving, hat making, flag making, poi and pom pom making, pot painting, jewellery making, and the obligatory colouring and drawing.
For an hour, twice a day the kids area offers a 'Baby Buggie Boogie', where babies, toddlers, and anyone who fancies a boogie can have a dance along to some favourite kids' tunes from The Wombles to The Wiggles. Once they've tired themselves out they can rest in the 'Baby Chill Out Area' or get active in the 'Toddlers Soft Play Area'.
Slightly older kids should head for 'La petite Discotheque', the festival's very own mobile disco, playing lunchtime blues, afternoon reggae and evening punk. There's even some strictly come dancing for younger people where they will be taught ska and pogo dancing!
The festival also offers 'Jive Lessons' at the 'Wigon Casino' where polka dot dresses, crepes and flat tops are the order of the day, as festival goers get down to a rock and roll jive lesson, there is a dress code for entry!
New for Endorse-It this year is the 'The Teenage Tent' where local young people will be organising their very own tent full of activities, entertainment, and music complete with pamper parlour.
The festival has a 'Kids Parade' at 5pm on Sunday, where all the children parade around with their costumes and craftwork. Costumes are available for big kids with fancy dress costumes to hire or buy and face Painting available. Kids can also make their own wonderful recycled creations at trash-tastic workshops by Rubbish Art. There they can also make musical instruments, art, giant games and sculptures, all made from festival-generated waste litter-picked on site. Rubbish Art-Proud to be Litter-ally 100% rubbish!
Endorse It also caters for adult too with Rock the Casbar the festival's first British punk themed drinking den, and their very own Trashed and Wasted area run by festival favourites the legendary 'Mutoid Waste Company, there will be more information about this project shortly. There's also 'The Mutoids Dome' which will be hosting trash workshops, and more including a TV theme tune quiz.
In contrast, there's 'The Festival Garden', a beautiful organic garden with wide ranging mix of flowers, salads, veg and herbs. With blooming flowers and potted plants and some enthusiastic horticulturalists on site to share their handy hints.
for those worrying about 'festival hair' Endorse-It In-Dorset offers salvation in the form of 'The Endorse it Salon' where beehives and flat tops are cut and styled to perfection, ready for 'Psychobilly Sunday' at the Double D stage.
For those with rhythm in their bones there's 'The Chai Chapel' which will again be providing Endorse-It with the obligatory festival drum workshops whilst serving delicious chai in their chilled out tent.
