GuilFest has confirmed that 3 Daft Monkeys will be the opening act on the main stage on Friday 4th July at Stoke Park, Guilford in Surrey.
The 3 Daft Monkeys are a world-influenced acoustic trio from Cornwall, consisting of Tim Ashton, Athene Roberts, and Jamie Waters who combine vocals, fiddle, 12-string guitar, bass guitar and foot drum.
Also confirmed for the main stage on Saturday is the Scottish singer/songwriter Jim Diamond. Diamond had a string of hits in the eighties including 'I Won't Let You Down', 'I Should Have Known Better, and is probably best known for 'Hi Ho Silver' the theme song from TV series Boon.
They join a bill which includes the Levellers headlining the opening night on Friday. Blondie headlines on Saturday and The Australian Pink Floyd Show will bring the festival to a close on Sunday. Other acts confirmed include British Sea Power, Les McKeown's Bay City Rollers, Wills and the Willing, The Egg, Hallucinogen, KraftyKuts, Zucchero, Kula Shaker, From the Jam, Fightstar, Cerys Mathews, Freak Power, The Aliens, Bowling for Soup, Richie Havens, The Damned, Seth Lakeman, Royworld, Babyhead, Sonic Boom Six, and Dreadzone. The line-up includes classic and modern acts totalling more than 200 in all for what will be a truly fantastic weekend at the the three day family friendly festival held from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th July 2008. Unlike some other festivals, you can immediately feel that this festival is being run to give everyone a great time, rather than to get rich quick!
Visitors to Guilfest can expect not only a great weekend of live music, but also comedy, children's entertainment, street theatre, art and crafts, delicious food from around the world and a truly festive atmosphere. There will also be a late licensed 150 foot bar and a cocktail bar, an extensive childrens area, The KidZone.
The KidZone is packed full of games, stilt walking, balloon modelling, face painting and drawing. On the Sunday it's over to the children for the annual Kids Parade, where the children get to show the rest of the festival what they have made over their weekend.
Tickets are on sale priced as follows: Adults - £40 day, £90 weekend, £100 weekend with camping. Children between 12 16 years old - £30 day, £50 weekend, £60 weekend with camping. N.B. Children between 12 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Children aged under 12 have free entry with a ticket holding adult. Camper vans tickets are £80 and are only valid in conjunction with an adult with camping ticket.

You can either camp for the whole weekend, or just come for one day. The music starts at around 5pm on the Friday, and noon on both Saturday and Sunday. Music finishes at 11pm on Friday and Saturday, with an earlier 9:30pm finish on Sunday.
