Bloom 2008 which takes place from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th August at the new location of Seven Springs, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire have confirmed a few line-up changes this year, blaming them on the current economic climate.

Bloom has announced on its website (here) that it has had to cancel a few artists due to slower than expected advance ticket sales. The organisers have also cited the current economic climate which has made it very difficult for many outdoor events this summer, and many contractors demanding 100% deposits for essential infrastructure.

The issues that the event has had to face has meant that it has struggled with cash flow and revealed that some artists have decided to pull their shows. Bloom has said it is determined to not let these circumstance claim yet another small UK festival scalp and they have decided to go ahead with the event. This will mean that some bands and DJs will not be appearing. These are Brand New Heavies, Kyte, The Nextmen, Super Nashwan, The Glimmers, The Presets, and Maurice Fulton.

The organisers have also announced that Akil from Jurassic 5 has been held up at immigration in London and has just been sent home because he didn't have a work visa, making his appearance very unlikely.

The festival's bad luck continues with the unfortunate news that The Black Seeds have also been forced to cancel due to the lead singer having a serious family matter to attend to back in New Zealand.

Headlining on Saturday are The Stereo MC's with other artists still booked to appear including Autokratz, Ewan Pearson, Florence and the Machine, Evil Nine, High Contrast, Hot8 Brass Band, James Yuill, Justin Robertson, Kraak & Smaak, Kissy Sell Out, London Breakbeat Orchestra, Meat Katie, The Part Time Heroes, Roni Size "Reparazent" (live), Roisin Murphy, Scratch Perverts, Shuffle, and Tunng. For the complete line-up details, days and stage splits as available please click here.

Full priced tickets are £85 for adults, Kids (5-15yr) £30, under-5s FREE, and campervans £25. Day tickets are available priced at £35. To buy tickets, click here.

Bloom's new location, 'Seven Springs', is set in the heart of the Gloucestershire countryside just outside of Cheltenham. The new site is 2 miles from Cheltenham and 5 mins drive from junction 11a on the M5. The land Bloom is using is situated on a ridge which overlooks the City and views of the Malvern Hills off in the distance. Bloom hope to make Seven Springs their home for the foreseeable future.

Expect a whole array of fancy dress, impromptu performance, ferris wheel, fire shows, installations, live art, bingo, 1920's DJs in full costume, circus acts, designated kid zones, a range of holistic therapies in the Bloom Vegetable patch, markets and a selection of quality, organic eateries.
