The End of the Road Festival which takes place at Larmer Tree Gardens, Tollard Royal, Salisbury, Wiltshire have announced the first acts for this year's festival, which happens from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th September.

The first acts confirmed include Steve Earle, the 'hardcore troubador', writer and activist, will be appearing at the three-day event for the first time. Joining him on the bill are crash-helmeted one man band Bob Log III, award-winning psych-folker Alela Diane, and post-pop electro-Danes Efterklang.

The early eclectic line-up confirmations also include Archie Bronson Outfit, Charlie Parr, Howlin Rain, Joe Gideon & The Shark, Lay Low, The Low Anthem, Motel Motel, Peter Broderick, Sparrow and the Workshop, Tallest Man on Earth, This Frontier Needs Heroes, William Elliott Whitmore, and Whispertown 2000. There will be more announcements in the coming weeks.

Tickets are on sale priced at £115 (including camping) for anyone aged 13 or over, with children 6-12 years old Weekend(must be accompanied by an adult) priced at £30. Children 5 years and under (must book a ticket and be accompanied by an adult) tickets are FREE. Live-in vehicles cost £35 and car park £5 (pay on arrival). To buy tickets, click here.

Started in 2006 the End of the Road festival caters for about 5,000 people, the organisers aim is to "organise an intimate festival with our favourite artists, and to offer the bands an opportunity to play longer sets, compared to most other festivals."

The Larmer Tree Gardens is about 2.5-3 hours drive from London, and falls on the border between North Dorset and Wiltshire, fairly close to Stonehenge. It's a beautiful venue with gorgeous views and with peacocks and huge parrots roaming / flying around freely both inside the gardens and in the field.
