Fairport Convention
Thursday night's headliner Steve Winwood's musical heritage includes Spencer Davies Group, Traffic, Blind Faith, XXXX and a long solo career. The Thursday line-up also sees punk legends Buzzcocks, witty folk duo Ken Nicol & Phil Cool, Manchester based folk quartet 4 Square, and Harlequinn which features Imogen Leslie, daughter of Fairport fiddler Chris will be the day's opening act.

Friday sees guitarist and singer-songwriter Richard Thompson return to the festival with a solo performance, fiddle player Seth Lakeman and his band, skiffle group The Dodge Brothers, guitar band John Jorgensen Band, punk with a folk twist from Adrian Edmondson & The Bad Shepherds, this year's BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award winners Megan & Joe Henwood, and the Midlands based four-piece band Colvin Quarmby.

Saturday has the traditional festival close with Fairport Convention & guests, before them is a full solo set from Ralph McTell, dub, techno and folk with Dreadzone, the rocking four-piece band featuring ex-Fairporter Dave Mattacks on drums Feast of Fiddles, and long-established five-piece Churchfitters.

These are just the first few acts for the friendly three-day festival of rock, pop and acoustic music set in the Oxfordshire countryside. Located adjacent to Cropredy village, five miles north of Banbury, and taking place from Thursday 13th to Saturday 15th August 2009. The full list of acts at Cropredy 2009 will be announced shortly. It's a very friendly festival with great ales, no sell-out out to rampant commercialism, and no huge ticket prices.

Tickets will go on sale on Sunday 1st March 2009. There will be substantial discounts for early purchase. Cropredy offers Sat-only one-day tickets, Fri-Sat two-day tickets and Thurs-Fri-Sat weekend tickets - we'll have the details when available. Tickets for children under 12 years old are free. The popular festival attracts up to 20,000 music fans – last year, all the tickets were sold weeks before the gates opened.

Unlike many other festivals, here you can park your vehicle next to your tent. You MUST have a concert ticket for the day you arrive to camp or caravan. Space on the campsites is for concert goers only. If you wish to camp with friends or family you must meet up somewhere off-site and arrive together as spaces cannot be saved.
