headliners announced for Summer Sundae Weekender

The Streets, The Charlatans, The Zutons, and Bon Iver, are the headliners for the ninth Summer Sundae weekender.

Friday night's headliner is Mike Skinner in his garage rap guise as The Streets. Headlining the Saturday night is alt-rock legends The Charlatans who this year celebrate twenty years together. Sunday sees indie rockers The Zutons, and Wisconsin singer-songwriter Bon Iver, sharing top billing.

Summer Sundae Weekender has long been a leading champion of emerging talent, and this year is no exception with MC/beatboxer Beardyman, art poppers Baddies, Swedish folksters First Aid Kit, and indie four piece The Kabeedies announced as the first additions to this year's line-up.

Summer Sundae Weekender is a three day family friendly music festival with full camping facilities held at De Montfort Hall, Leicester and happening from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th August. Year on year the festival has delivered a broad spectrum of emerging and established artists from the field of music, comedy, and spoken across its stages.

This year Summer Sundae Weekender offers festival goers over 100 acts with an eclectic mix of live bands of all styles and genres over six stages, along with high calibre comedy in the eFestivals Comedy Tent. Plus lots of fun and activities for the kids, a fine selection of food and drinks, and a highly green ethos - Summer Sundae was awarded the Red Kite Award in '08 for producing a carbon neutral festival.

'Early bird' tickets are on sale priced at £92 for an adult ticket or £99 for an adult ticket with camping. An adult and child with camping is priced at £129, an adult and child combination ticket is priced at £122, and an adult with 2 Kids is priced at £152, with an additional £7 for camping.

The night before the festival various venues in Leicester City Centre offer early arrivals a Thursday night of music and comedy in the form of a Fringe Festival.

The Summer Sundae Weekender is easy to get to due to the extensive rail links to Leicester (just one hour from Sheffield and London St Pancras), not to mention the fact that the festival site is 5 minutes walk from the city centre. Early Bird tickets are on sale until the end of March, so snap them up while you can.
