eFestivals can exclusively announce the first names for the Comedy Tent line-up at this August's Summer Sundae Weekender.
The packed programme also includes emerging talent including Leicester Comedy Festival Best Show Winner Al Pitcher, the UK's only deaf comedian Steve Day, Dan Nightingale, Markus Birdman, Hal Cruttenden, and Martin Bigpig Mor.
Summer Sundae Director Richard Haswell commented, "Let's face it, some of today's bands can be a miserable lot at times, and people do sometimes want to get away from the music for a while and have a good laugh. The eFestivals cabaret tent fulfilled that brief brilliantly in 2006 and was one of the highlights of the festival. So we are delighted that it is back again this year with expanded opening hours and an even greater range of comic talent.
"We're equally pleased to be renewing our friendship with the lovely people at Leicester Comedy Festival and at efestivals.co.uk, programmers and sponsors respectively, without whom we'd have to spend longer contemplating the mysteries of the universe and less giggling childishly at a spectacularly immature double entendre..."
The eFestivals Comedy Tent is programmed by Leicester Comedy Festival, the UK's longest running comedy festival.
The music line-up includes headliners The Streets, The Charlatans, and The Zutons, and Bon Iver. Plus Baddies, Beardyman, Broken Records, Chairlift, Dan Black, Easy Star All Stars, Fanfarlo, First Aid Kit, Frank Turner, Future Of The Left, Hugh Cornwell, Idlewild, Imelda May, James Yuill, John Smith, Karima Francis, Micachu & The Shapes, Mystery Jets, Noisettes, Oi Va Voi, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, Port O'brien, Saint Etienne, Teitur, The Kabeedies, The Qemists, The Yellow Moon Band, and more. Ashley beedle and Horace Andy have pulled out but have been replaced with The Beat. For the line-up details as available please click here.
