Kasabian have made their plans for 2010 clear by declaring they would like a headline slot at next year's T in the Park.
In the article Kasabian also say that they are sad that their musical heroes, Oasis, are no more, and believe that they are the natural successors to their crown. Bassist Chris Edwards says, "They have left a big hole. Festivals, stadiums and arenas will need filling and we are ready to be that band."
Tom added, "It's over for Oasis now. It's not my business but there must have been a lot of trouble happening for Noel to walk out. If it's so big that he's not coming back, it's a sad day for rock 'n' roll. I've heard Liam is going to carry it on without Noel but to me it's over."
Whilst Kasabian are one of the better live acts currently on the circuit, their album sales are vastly smaller than Oasis', and they have a long way to go yet to become the UK's biggest rock band.
The seventeenth T in the Park will be back at Balado in 2010 from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th July with festival goers able to expect a line-up of around 180 artists to play over 11 stages. There are no acts confirmed yet for 2010.
The festival offers a huge variety of music across seven main stages with large camping areas, as well as other attractions, including a large funfair, comedy tent, silent disco, stalls, and food markets.
The T in the Park early bird ticket offer has finished, and tickets are due on sale around March next year.
