The Strokes, and Jay-Z have been confirmed as headliners for the ninth Isle of Wight Festival which happens from Friday 11th until Sunday 13th June 2010 at Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight.

Friday's headliner will be Jay-Z, and The Strokes will be headlining the Saturday night of the festival, with Blondie as special guests also on the Saturday. Sunday's special guest will be Pink.

The Big Top headliner on Saturday will be duo Orbital, with Squeeze headlining for campers only on the Thursday night.

Festival organiser John Giddings said, "Ever since I first heard the first Strokes album I have wanted them for the Isle of Wight. Jay-Z and Pink are two of the best live acts I have ever seen and the Blondie hits speak for themselves. I can't wait!"

Tickets for the 2010 Isle Of Wight Festival will go on sale at 9am on Friday 4th December, and eFestivals will have links for you to buy them then.

Tickets will be priced at £150 for adult camping which includes entertainment in the campsite on Thursday night, and £75 for a child ticket (aged 7 to 12 years). The price of an adult ticket without camping is £130 and £65 for children (aged 7 to 12 years). All children 6 years old and under on 11th June 2010 can go for free but must still have a ticket. A campervan permit is £250 (all occupiers must also have a valid Camping ticket).

The festival has a large main stage in a natural amphitheatre that showcases well known rock and indie names, a legendary act or two, and rising stars, in a relaxed festival atmosphere.

Making a return in 2010 is the 5,000 capacity circus style Big Top. This plays host to a special night with Squeeze on the Thursday on offer to campers and Festival First Members only, and then acts as a second stage once the festival begins.

Away from the Main Stage, there is the Acoustic Stage, and the Platform One Bandstand which offers unsigned acts and local bands, around 50 acts in all.

The arena is expected to open from 2pm until midnight on the Friday, 11am until midnight on the Saturday, and 11am until 11pm on the Sunday. No bottles, cans, chairs, etc, may be taken into the arena. The Campsites are open from noon on Thursday until noon on Monday. Strawberry Fields opens on Thursday at 6pm until midnight for campers and Festival First Members.
