Three more acts have been confirmed to appear on the Friday of the 10th anniversary edition of Bloodstock Open Air.
Joining them on the line-up are the Swedish Death Metal Supergroup, comprising of members of Katatonia and Opeth, Bloodbath who will be making their first ever UK appearance at Bloodstock Open Air. Predominantly a studio band, Bloodbath have only ever played three shows since their formation, and only one outside of their home country, at Wacken festival in 2005. This will be the band's only show on these shores in 2010, guitarist Anders 'Blakkheim' Nystrom stated, "A bloodbath over Bloodstock! What could be a better way to celebrate this mighty festival's 10th year anniversary! It will be our first time on UK soil and it will be happening on Friday the 13th, so it seems we get to kill two birds with one stone!"
Norwegian Black Metallers Gorgoroth will also be making their first ever UK festival appearance.
In other news, Dream Evil have been forced to pull out of the festival. "We were really looking forward to come back to blast the Bloodstock stage again" says the band. "We had so much fun when we were last there, but sadly, we are not going to be able to do the show because of personal commitments."
Bloodstock's 10th Anniversary will take place from Friday 13th until Sunday 15th August 2010 at Catton Hall, Walton-on-Trent, in South Derbyshire.
They join a line-up that includes headliners Children Of Bodom, Heaven & Hell, and Fear Factory, plus GWAR, Gojira, Korpiklaani, Obituary, Suffocation, Behemoth, and more. Expect Bloodstock to provide a full line-up of established and unsigned metal bands. For the line-up details announced so far please click here.
As well as the international heavy metal bands across three stages, Bloodstock offers a large selection of merchandise stalls, metal karaoke, a campsite and a wide selection of food and bars.
Tickets are available and include camping priced at £99.95 for adults and £40 for children, and £30 for a campervan ticket, and £10 for a car parking pass. Day tickets are expected to be on sale at a later date. To buy tickets, click here.
