The Quireboys, UFO and more for High Voltage

The Quireboys, and UFO are amongst the latest acts to be announced for the new rock festival, High Voltage, featuring over 40 classic rock, progressive rock and metal acts playing over three stages.

Confirmed for the Main Stage are Brit rock'n'rolling veterans The Quireboys who appear twenty years after their debut album 'A Bit Of What You Fancy'. Joining them on the main stage line-up are hard rock legends UFO best known for their '70s classic albums including 'Phenomenon', 'Force It', 'Lights Out', 'Obsession' and 'Strangers In The Night'. and The Union, a new band formed by Luke Morley, formerly the guitarist for Thunder.

Supergroup Transatlantic, made up of Roine Stolt (The Flower Kings), Pete Trewavas (Marillion), Neal Morse (ex-Spock’s Beard) and Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater)will be headlining the Prog Stage. Also appearing on that stage will be Dweezil Zappa Plays Zappa playing a greatest hits set of the music from his father, the rock legend Frank Zappa. The band returns to the UK for the first time since a sellout tour in 2008.

British metallers Venom will appear on the Metal Stage at London's Victoria Park over the weekend of Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th July 2010.

They join a line-up that has headliners ZZ Top, and Emerson, Lake and Palmer, along with Heaven & Hell, Bachman Turner, Asia, Uriah Heep, Joe Bonamassa, Focus, Touchstone, The Reasoning, Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash, Pendragon, Argent, Marillion and Foreigner.
