Glastonbury Festival boss reveals new late night area

and confirms Mumford & Sons

Festival organiser Michael Eavis has revealed that there will be a new late night area at this year's Glastonbury Festival in a radio interview with Glastonbury FM (here). The farmer also revealed that Mumford & Sons will be play the Park Stage at this year's Glastonbury festival.

Mr Eavis tells Glastonbury FM in the interview, "We're (investing) down in the the old Lost Vagueness Fields, now called Shangri-La. We've now got Shangri-La, we've got Trash City, Arcadia, and we've got Unit 9 which is a new area. So, we're investing heavily into that area down there for entertainment, because that's where people want to be. We're increasing investment into that area by about £200,000."

There's no more details yet about the new area Unit Nine. also during the interview, Mr Eavis revealed that Stevie Wonder isn't yet booked for the Sunday headline slot, but did when asked what music he likes to listen to, reveal, "A band called Mumford & Sons, you might get fed up with of it eventually but I'm still enjoying it, they will be playing up in The Park this year. So that'll be good."

Glastonbury Festival organisers have announced that the re-sale of cancelled tickets for this year's Festival will take place at 9am on Sunday, 11th April 2010.

Tickets will be sold online at www.seetickets.com/g2010 and via the Seetickets booking line 0844 412 4635. The numbers are limited and are expected to sell out quickly.

In order to purchase tickets in the re-sale, ALL ticket purchasers must be successfully registered by Wednesday, 31st March. Online registration can be made at glastonburyregistration.co.uk.

As well as standard Festival tickets (priced at £185), there will be a limited number of Combined Coach and Festival Tickets on sale. These tickets include either single or return coach tickets from a range of locations around the UK.

The event will mark the 40th anniversary of the Music and Arts Festival at Worthy Farm, Somerset, where Michael Eavis first opened his gates for business in September 1970. Glastonbury Festival runs for five full days from Wednesday 23rd until Sunday 27th June 2010 across over a 1,000 acres of beautiful countryside.

Only headliners U2, and Jack Johnson, plus breaking talent My Luminaire, and John E Vistic are officially confirmed for the Festival. The ticket price includes includes a FREE programme, a 40th anniversary commemorative ticket, a useful cloth bag, and a small around the neck guide.
