Fabio leads the first acts announced for the Bass Camp late night dance area at Scotland's The Wickerman Festival.
Rich Dyer from Skiddle said, "We wanted to go with a new take for this year's Wickerman so we have booked in some really strong artists to take over on the Friday. There are so many amazing artists out there right now and we feel we have picked some of the very best."
U & A Recordings have taken over the Wickerman's long standing breaks tent and the line-up will feature over the weekend features Zodiac Cartel, Calvertron, The Loops Of Fury, Vandal, Rektchordz, Mike Hulme, Simon Jackson, Believe, Silver Storic, Ray McKinney, Al Majik, Re-tox, Siern, Ingen, Pyz, Stephen Allen, DD, VJ Simone, Bandit, B-Sides, and Sunosis.
Simon Jackson from U&A added, "Basically we had such a great success last year with Meat Katie and Dylan Rhymes' label LOT 49 hosting the marquee that I decided to look at something similar again this year with a similar music policy and U & A were the only obvious choice. Playing Tech-Funk which encompasses a brilliant and inspired cross genre of breaks, techno, electro, house and anything inbetween, theres plenty to look forward to. Also this year we have pulled the stops out for the tent decoration, lighting and live VJs to create a visual wonderland for the festival punters, to hopefully create the now legendary Wickerman vibe."
The ninth Wickerman festival which happens on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th July 2010 at Dundrennan, South West Scotland, in deepest Galloway has a line-up that sees The Charlatans and Ocean Colour Scene headline with Buzzcocks, The Undertones, Pama International, Tony Christie, 808 State, Goldie Lookin' Chain, Fenech Soler, Erland and the Carnival, The Saw Doctors, Codeine Velvet Club, Sons & Daughters, and more. The festival welcomes families, and features two main stages, as well as a dance area, acoustic and reggae tents, a campsite, trade stalls, alternative area, bars, and food stalls. With two huge marquees, an outdoor funk stage, chill out space and bar not to mention the Skiddle Bus debut - The Wickerman Festival is a great event for those after some all night dance action, away from the corporate sponsorship the larger dance events offer.
Weekend adult tickets cost £85, teens aged 13-15 cost £42.50, kids under 13 are admitted free. To buy, click here.
This year's fancy dress theme is Vampires and Werewolves. Festival goers are invited to bring their Halloween costumes and get in the Hammy Horror groove for next July's fangtastic celebration of all things Fiery and Fearsome.
