With just two days to go until Bloodstock opens its gates to celebrate the 10th anniversary both Cathedral, and Winterfylleth have stepped in to replace Behemoth, and October File at the metal event held at Catton Hall, Walton-on-Trent, in South Derbyshire from Friday 13th until Sunday 15th August 2010.

Behemoth frontman Nergal has been rushed to hospital, and as a result the band has been forced to cancel their scheduled shows, including Bloodstock. Taking their place at the 11th hour will be English doom metallers Cathedral, who make their Bloodstock debut with this last minute confirmation.

October File have also had to cancel their performance at the festival due to vocalist Ben Hollyer exacerbating his current stomach injury at their recent Sonisphere festival set. Explains Ben, "Unfortunately I have had to pull out of performing at BOA this year and our first year too! I am absolutely gutted that we can't be there. A recent injury involving my abdominal muscles tearing down the middle has made performing not possible. Have a good BOA!!"

Stepping up to replace them are rising folk flavoured black metallers Winterfylleth. Vocalist/guitarist Chris Naughton states, "Winterfylleth are truly humbled to be asked to play at one of the finest metal festivals going on within our fair shores. It is a privilege for us as existing fans of the festival to now be considered amongst some of the great bands that are playing at the festival this year. We are looking forward to bringing our brand of English inspired Black Metal to such a discerning and committed festival following. We look forward to seeing you there. Hail Bloodstock."

They join a line-up that includes headliners Opeth, Children Of Bodom, Fear Factory, and Twisted Sister, plus Meshuggah, GWAR, Gojira, Korpiklaani, Obituary, Suffocation, and more. Expect Bloodstock to provide a line-up of both established and the yet to be announced unsigned metal bands. For the line-up details, day and stage splits of the acts announced please click here.

Bloodstock is not just about metal acts - there's a whole host of entertainment and activities on offer. Thursday night is party night, with Freddy vs Jason as the theme. Prizes will be offered to the best looking monsters on site!

The bands performing will be taking time out to meet the fans, courtesy of the official signing tent and signing times will be posted outside.

There's also fairground attractions, including dodgems and white knuckle rides, a pub on site offering real ale. The Bloodstock Arms will be open all weekend.

Once again the 4 DJs of the Apocalypsereturn to Bloodstock to host the daily metal karaoke party in the Sophie Lancaster stage once all the bands have finished, giving festival goers the chance to sing along to a menu of metal classics. The fierce foursome will also be hosting a metal disco, giving you a chance to rest your vocal chords and headbang along to old and new favourites.

This year, Bloodstock also has a very special raffle, as a way of saying thanks to the fans for their 10 years of support. All Bloodstock ticket holders will be automatically given the chance to win a brand new car - crammed full of goodies including music, merchandise, a guitar, and more. The prize will be given to one lucky winner at the end of the event.

Tickets are available and include camping priced at £99.95 for adults and £40 for children, and £30 for a campervan ticket, and £10 for a car parking pass. Day tickets are expected to be on sale at a later date. To buy tickets, click here.
