Hot pop property Janelle Monae, The Jolly Boys, and many more have been added to the Bestival line-up at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight.
Making its inaugural trip to Bestival as part of the Wishing Tree area is The Bimble Inn. A solar powered stage and bar in a tipi that serves cider and organic ales and will host performances from Janelle Monae, The Jolly Boys, David Harks, The Shadow Orchestra, Philip Henry, Amigos, Nately, Baraka, Domino State, Movits, Ta Mere, Papa Dez (DJ), Lulu and the Lampshades, Belleruche, Countryside Alliance, The Egg, Andy Barlow (Lamb), Skinny Lister, The Midnight Expresso, Sound Of Rum, Django Django, Brassroots, and Cindy Pink (DJ Set).
Another new arrival at the Wishing Tree is Chai Wallahs who will provide performances from a selection of the UK's underground talent and established artists including The Diplomats of Sound DJs, Moneyshot & Parker, Featurecast, Rodney P, Skitz, DJ Die, The Nextmen, Yoshi, Channel One Soundsytem, Reggae Roast, Evergreen & Landlord, Jstar, Shepdog, David Rodigan, Skuff & Inja, Asbo Disco, The Heatwave DJs, and Mr Benn. Chai Wallahs also boasts aroma DJs who blend scents to fit the musical vibes, a bar & café, herbal shot bar, Crazy Shaman Herbal Emporium and a Shisha Lounge.
The Wishing Tree field will also host the Cabaret Tent inc Silent Disco, a 24hour dub café, The Big Love Inflatable Church, Lost & Found's antics, Prangsta Costumiers, Bramble FM, The Dukes Box and Mr Whippy & the Conettes.
The Polka Tent makes a return to Bestival and is dedicated to gypsy remix, jumping Polkas and hoedown folk. This year's action includes fruit that sings, 1000 mile an hour Gypsy Punk, Burlesque Morris and tonnes of Eastern polka. The line-up features Trio Manouche, Max Pashm, Tako Lako, Cut a Shine, Magpies Nest, Sam and The Womp, Drunken Balordi, Penny Metal, Dodo, Kidnap Alice, DJ Chris Tofu, Lazy Habits, Billy Vincent, The Loose Moose String Band, Trailer Trash Orchestra, Wagon Tales, Goodnight Lenin, DJ Peeping Tallulah, and DJ Tony Lambada.
The Black Dahlia tent also returns with live sets from The Shellac Collective, Lonnie Donegan Jr, Jack, The Henry Brothers, The Siren Sisters, Gregs Greats, DJ78, Count Sizzle, Natty Bo, DJ SisaMo, DJs Flutter & Wow, and DJ GG.
For this year's theme Bestival will become a world of Fantasy and acts already confirmed include Dizzee Rascal and Hot Chip on Friday, The Flaming Lips and Roxy Music on Saturday, and The Prodigy on Sunday, plus Wailers, Wild Beats, Mumford & Sons, Chic, Tricky, The Temper Trap, The xx, Richie Hawtin presents Plastikman Live, Fever Ray, Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem, Gil Scott-Heron, Chase & Status, Echo and the Bunnymen, Simian Mobile Disco, Delphic, Rolf Harris, Howard Jones, Marc Almond, and of course festival regulars The Cuban Brothers. Plus many more.
Joining host Rob da Bank behind the decks with DJ sets will be La Roux and Dead Guy (DJ set, Magda, Zane Lowe, Audio Bullys, Gilles Peterson, Don Letts, Mylo, Dave Clarke, Erol Alkan, Aeroplane, DJ Yoda, Annie Mac, David Rodigan, Ewan Pearson, Dixon, Greg Wilson, Nathan Fake, Huw Stephens, Mary Anne Hobbs, Jaguar Skills, Joy Orbison, Horse Meat Disco, DJ Derek, and more.
