Farmer, Michael Eavis, 75, tells the BBC that he hopes to keep at the helm of the festival for at least another decade, although he realises that one day, he will have to hand over the mantle of organising the Festival to his daughter Emily, who is already involved in the planning of the event.

Eavis said, "There has to be a time doesn't there? Maybe I've got another ten years possibly left in me. I'm feeling cock-a-hoop and I've got no signs of giving up at the moment but I certainly need all the help I can get. Emily will be in a good place to take the show on eventually."

After this year's festival Eavis revealed he had invited Irish rockers U2 back to the Festival after they were forced to pull out last year, and he also says that they they still have not officially confirmed they will appear in 2011. Eavis said, "We don't know yet. We're obviously planning all sorts of things."

For those who are hoping the acts will be announced before tickets go on sale on Sunday, Eavis lets slip that the Festival won't announce the headliners until all the tickets are sold, he avowed, "The three headliners are incredibly impressive - I deliberately want to announce them after the tickets have been sold".

The dairy farmer added, "The headliners next year are absolutely fantastic - I can guarantee that. It'll be on a par with this year, and possibly slightly better even."

Festival organiser Michael Eavis also explained that Glastonbury Festival fallow year in 2012 was handy because there wouldn't be enough police available for the Festival due to the London Olympics. Eavis explained, "We can't get police because all the police are in London. The Olympics fits in with our cycle quite nicely."
