U2 have dropped a big hint that they'll be at Glastonbury Festival next year.
Posted on their official website (here) last night, around 36 hours before tickets are due to go on sale, are the following words...
Tickets for Glastonbury 2011 go on sale this weekend. Will U2 fans finally see 'Glastonbury' at Glasto?
Glastonbury's Michael Eavis has said he'd like U2 to play in 2011 after they missed their slot at Worthy Farm this past June.
Looking at the tour dates - there is a gap in the band's schedule ahead of the East Lansing show on June 26th which would make the Friday night a possibility.
The most Paul McGuinness would say was, 'We're certainly excited about our plans for next year. Watch this space!'
The fact that they're putting these words on their website suggests that they're likely to play and to encourage people who want to see them to buy tickets.
Glastonbury 2011 tickets are on sale from 9am tomorrow morning. See below for more information.
Tickets for next year's Glastonbury Festival will go on sale at 9am this Sunday, 3rd October 2010, priced at £195 (+ £5 booking fee and P&P). Fans will be able to book up to 8 tickets per transaction by paying a £50 deposit per person. It will not be possible to pay for a ticket in full and only deposits will be taken.
Anyone aged 13 or over (when the Festival starts) who wishes to buy a ticket must be registered. All registered festival-goers who want to buy tickets will need the registration number and postcode for each person for whom a ticket is being booked.
Ticket registration closed at 9am Friday 1st October, exactly 48 hours before tickets are due to go on sale. The registration site is due to re-open on the morning of Monday 4th October. Until 8am on Sun 3rd October an existing registration can be checked here.
There will then be no further UK payments taken until the booking site re-opens on Friday 1st April 1st 2011, when those who have successfully put down a deposit will have a week to pay their balance of £145 per ticket, and to book everything else they might need (tipis, campervan tickets, parking, insurance).
When available, in spring 2011, a car park ticket will be priced at £20 and a campervan ticket will be priced at £75.
