For those who haven't yet signed up so they can have the chance of buying tickets when a further release of a limited number of cancelled tickets happens. This resale is expected in April or May 2011, but only those who have registered beforehand will be eligible to buy a ticket.

Anyone aged 13 or over (when the Festival starts) who wishes to buy a ticket must be registered. Registration involves providing contact details, a valid e-mail address, and a passport standard photo.

The registration site closed on Friday 1st October for 48 hours before tickets went on sale. The registration site has now re-opened, and online registration can be carried out by clicking here.

The scramble for tickets for next year's festival saw the whole allocation of tickets selling in just over four hours yesterday. For those who want to confirm they have purchased tickets, there is a ticket checking facility here.

Ticket sales were not quite as fast as the 105 minute sell out panic of tickets in 2007, or the two hour ticket sale of 2005, and faster than the 12 hour sell out of last year. There was no repeat of 2009 when tickets took several weeks to sell out, or 2008 where tickets were available right up until the festival.

Anyone who decides not to pay their balance in 2011 will be refunded their deposit, minus a £10 administration fee. Those tickets will then be put forward to a re-sale, which is likely to be in April or May 2011. eFestivals will

The deadline for ticket refunds is Friday 6th May 2011.

Coach is probably the best way to arrive - not only is this more friendly to the environment, it can be more fun than a car with the chance to meet new people before you get to the Festival. The services drop you at the Festival Bus Station near Red Gate 1, right next to the entrance (much closer since 2002 than it had been previously).

You can buy coach tickets direct to the Festival from National Express from most major towns & cities the official coach partner of the Festival. Information about these services are available on the National Express website as well as the facility to book online.

Next year's Glastonbury Festival runs for five full days from Wednesday 22nd until Sunday 26th June 2011 across over a 1,000 acres of beautiful countryside at Worthy Farm, Somerset. Expect something like 2,000 performances at 50 or so venues including music, cabaret, theatre, circus, a fantastic Kidz area, poetry, green crafts and information and loads, loads more ... much more than just the music, so make sure you check it all out!

No acts are confirmed as yet, although U2 look likely, and organiser Michael Eavis confirmed to eFestivals that next year's Festival will be headlined by "The three biggest bands in the world. You won't believe who we've got." The names won't be announced until after all the tickets have been sold. As usual eFestivals will bring you the very best-sourced rumours, allowing festival-goers to see who is playing long before the bands are formally announced - keep your eyes on the Glastonbury 2011 rumours, updated as we receive information.
