Kasabian have been confirmed to bring the Isle of Wight Festival to a close at Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight headlining the last night of the festival which runs from Friday 10th until Sunday 12th June 2011.

Kasabian
Kasabian will be bringing the curtain down on the tenth anniversary celebrations of the Isle Of Wight Festival with a headlining performance on the final night.

This will be the Leicestershire rockers' first appearance at the festival. Singer Tom Meighan and co. are currently working on the follow-up album to last year's 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum' which they hope to have completed early next year. The Isle Of Wight audience can expect to have a chance to hear a couple of new songs showcased by a band at full strength. Sure to pull out all the stops, Kasabian will be the perfect band to end the Festival.

Festival organiser John Giddings said, "We wanted the kings of rock 'n' roll every night for our tenth birthday and the choices were obvious. Kasabian have reignited UK rock music and taken the mantle, long may they reign. It will be a riotous crowd-pleasing end to the weekend and I think that Jimi Hendrix would approve of our choices!"

They're the final line-up announcement, ahead of tickets going on sale at 9am tomorrow, Friday 19th November, and eFestivals will have links for you to buy them then.

Tickets will be priced at £175 for adult camping, and £87.50 for a child ticket (aged 7 to 12 years). The price of an adult ticket without camping is £150 and £75 for children (aged 7 to 12 years). All children 6 years old and under on 10th June 2011 can go for free but must still have a ticket. A campervan permit is priced at £250 (all occupiers must also have a valid Camping ticket). There will not be any Festival First tickets this year, and there will once again be live music on Thursday night for those who get there early.

All Special Needs customers should call Ticket Zone on 0844 499 9955 to purchase tickets. If you are registered disabled your carer is entitled to a free ticket, you need to make Ticket Zone aware of this when you make your purchase.

Kings of Leon will headline Friday, Pulp join Foo Fighters on Saturday, and 'The British Pink Floyd Show' are also confirmed for the festival which has a large main stage in a natural amphitheatre that showcases well known rock and indie names, a legendary act or two, and rising stars, in a relaxed festival atmosphere.

/ Making a return in 2011 is the 5,000 capacity circus style Big Top which plays host to a campers only special night for those who arrive on Thursday, and acts as the second stage once the festival begins. There will also be an Acoustic Stage, the Platform One Bandstand offering unsigned acts and local bands, and a new entertainment area in the Field of Dreams.
