The Strokes for Reading and Leeds Festival 2011?

The Sun are reporting (here) that The Strokes are being rumoured to headline the 2011 Reading and Leeds Festivals 2011.

The Sun are reporting that Reading and Leeds Festival 2011 will be headlined by The Strokes. The newspaper says, "A source said: "It's no surprise that Reading and Leeds bosses want The Strokes to be the big headliner in 2011, given their reputation as a live act."

Lead singer Julian Casablanca recently revealed on Twitter that they had 'finished' their new album which is due to be released early next year. The album will be the band's first release since 'First Impressions of Earth' in 2006.

The line-up will not be officially announced until full price tickets are released in the Spring.

Reading and Leeds Festival pre-sale tickets will go on sale from Friday 3rd December at 2010 prices and eFestivals will have links for you to buy them then.

Early bird tickets will be priced at £180 for a weekend ticket, and £15 for an early bird Wednesday entry ticket. Campervan and Caravan permits cost £20 in advance and £30 on the gate. Day tickets will be available at a later date. Tickets are strictly limited to a maximum of four per household for those booking online. Over 18's wristband will be optional, but allow those that look young to not have to carry ID around all the time. Day tickets will be available at a later date.

Reading and Leeds Festivals which take place on the bank holiday weekend, from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th August. Reading Festival takes place at Little Johns Farm, Richfield Avenue, Reading, Berkshire, and Leeds Festival takes place at Bramham Park, Leeds, West Yorkshire.
