Diamond Head will join the big 4 on the Friday night bill, and Weezer, Airbourne, and Architects have also been added to the line-up at this summer's Sonisphere at Hertfordshire's Knebworth House.
Also confirmed as Sonisphere exclusives are Weezer, Airbourne, and Architects.
Founding member and guitarist Brian Tatler said of the upcoming appearance, "Diamond Head have been given the fantastic opportunity of opening for the BIG 4 at this years Sonisphere festival, Knebworth Friday 8th July. This will be Diamond Head's biggest ever show and myself and the other band members are very excited and looking forward to what will be an historic event. Knebworth is one of those venues you only dream of playing. I saw Led Zeppelin there in 1979 and never imagined that one day I would be on that stage, it proves the saying 'anything is possible'! It also means I get to see my friends in Metallica and Megadeth once again which is always fun; I owe both Lars Ulrich and Dave Mustaine a beer!"
They join the previously announced Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth & Anthrax headlining the Friday night, Biffy Clyro headlining on Saturday and Slipknot on Sunday. Other acts confirmed are Motorhead, Mastodon, In Flames, Parkway Drive, with many more acts still to be confirmed.
A limited number of three-day non-camping tickets are available from £140, while full weekend camping tickets start from £165.
A non-refundable deposit scheme is also running to allow festival-goers to secure their tickets now for £50 each, with the balance payable by 1st March 2011.
