Also confirmed are Kids in Glass Houses, and Gallows with the latter playing outside this year. Guitarist Lags Says, "Now we're playing outdoors which means there's even more space for you, yes YOU, to get wild with us on the Saturday."
After an eight year hiatus One Minute Silence return to Sonisphere. Frontman Yap explains, "Been too long. Missing the pit, missing the vibe, missing the fans. Time for round two. Unfinished business. Expect mayhem."
Last year Volbeat were forced to cancel their scheduled UK tour, now UK fans will get the chance to see them at Sonisphere.
Also making their only UK festival appearance of 2011, French metal powerhouse Gojira, with InMe making a return again this year, and Canadian prog metallers Protest The Hero come to Sonisphere for the first time. Guitarist Tim Millar states, "We haven't played many festivals in Europe and hear so many amazing things! I'm stoked to be a part of Sonisphere and getting a full European festival experience this summer. Not to mention all the great bands we will be performing alongside."
They join the previously announced Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth & Anthrax headlining the Friday night, Biffy Clyro headlining on Saturday and Slipknot on Sunday. Other acts confirmed are Motorhead, Mastodon, In Flames, Parkway Drive, with many more acts still to be confirmed.
A limited number of three-day non-camping tickets are available from £140, while full weekend camping tickets start from £165.
A non-refundable deposit scheme is also running to allow festival-goers to secure their tickets now for £50 each, with the balance payable by 1st March 2011.
