The Great Escape seek 300+ volunteers for 2011 festival

The Great Escape are seeking more than 300 volunteers to help with this year's festival.

The Great Escape organisers have announced that they will be hosting a special volunteer drop-in day at the Queens Hotel on Brighton Seafront between the hours of 3:00-6:00pm on Tuesday 15th March 2011.

Students and music enthusiasts alike are invited to sign-up to help out at The Great Escape 2011 – over 300 volunteers are required to make the weekend run smoothly – although organisers stress that this drop-in day is open to anybody wanting to really get involved with the festival and who is keen to both contribute and learn at the same time.

The organising team will be in attendance at the drop in day in order to answer any questions from prospective volunteers and are looking to recruit especially in the following key areas:

* Branding and Sponsorship
* Convention
* Festival Runners
* Delegate Registration
* Technical Production Support
* Venue Staff – Production and Front of House
* Wristband Exchange

Taking place in Brighton between Thursday 12th and Saturday 14th May, and features performances from hundreds of artists in numerous locations throughout the city.

The line up so far includes Friendly Fires (Dome Show), DJ Shadow (Dome Show), Sufjan Stevens (Dome Show), Katy B, Example, The Vaccines, The Naked and Famous, The Joy Formidable, Warpaint, Gang Gang Dance, Villagers, Twin Shadow, Marnie Stern, Alela Diane, Max Richter, YUCK, Brother, The Radio Dept., Devlin, Cults, The Antlers, Ed Sheeran, Little Dragon, Hauschka, Dinosaur Pile-Up, Mona, PVT, Suuns, SBTRKT, 2:54, Ben Howard, Thus:Owls, Josh T. Pearson, The Phantom Band, Fixers, Grimes, Handsome Furs, Chad Valley, D/R/U/G/S, Braids, Big Deal, Matthew and The Atlas, Ghostpoet, Heathers, Housse de Racket, Luluc, MALPAS, Marcus Foster, Funeral Suits, GaBLé, and more.

The line-up will include over 300 acts from around the globe in around 30 venues within Brighton City Centre. The venues are all a close walk from each other with each venue equipped to an international showcase standard. For the line-up details as available please click here.

This year, a small number of shows will take place at The Dome in Brighton with DJ Shadow, Friendly Fires, and Sufjan Stevens. Dome Show Single Gig Tickets start at £15 per show or top up a festival wristband at £6 per show.
