Norwegian musician Ihsahn makes the first UK festival appearance of his 21 year career on the Ronnie James Dio Stage at this year's Bloodstock.

Norwegian composer, guitar, bass, keyboard player and vocalist Ihsah has grown from his early days in the Norwegian Black Metal scene with Thou Shalt Suffer, and Emperor through the partnership with his wife in the Avante-garde Peccatum, and into his solo work, alongside guest appearances with Ulver, Acturus and fellow Bloodstock performer Devin Townsend.

Ihsahn said, "I have strong musical bonds to the UK, both as fan and artist. I played my first UK show back in 1993 but this will be my first open-air appearance and I’m really looking forward to it.

He will join a line-up that sees W.A.S.P., Immortal, and Motorhead headlining the weekend of Friday 12th until Sunday 14th August 2011 at Catton Hall, Walton-on-Trent, in South Derbyshire. With Rhapsody Of Fire, Devin Townsend Project, Kreator, Napalm Death, Nevermore, Morbid Angel, Exodus, Coroner, Therion, Triptykon, Angelwitch, Lawnmower Deth, October File, The Rotted, At The Gates, and many more announced.
