Foo Fighters, and Lady Gaga have been announced as the headliners of the Radio One Big Weekend held this year at Carlisle Airport, Carlisle, in Cumbria.

Joining the Foo Fighters on the main stage on Saturday will be Black Eyed Peas, Tinie Tempah, Plan B, Nicole Scherzinger, Chase & Status, Ellie Goulding, and Jessie J.

On Sunday Lady Gaga tops the main stage line-up, with My Chemical Romance, Bruno Mars, The Script, Taio Cruz, Katy B, Professor Green, Olly Murs, and The Wombats also confirmed.

This event is run in a different location within the United Kingdom each time. It is the biggest free live music event in the UK and always includes a host of new artists. The two day free festival takes place this year on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th May.

The In New Music We Trust Stage line-up is to be announced tonight, with the BBC Introducing Stage line-up revealed tomorrow, and the Outdoor Stage acts confirmed on Friday.

Tickets are free and are obtained through a lottery. Registration for tickets will run from Thursday 31 March until 7pm on Thursday 7 April. People wishing to go must register on the BBC website and pairs of tickets will then be allocated. Radio One want to make sure the majority of the tickets go to people who live in Carlisle and the surrounding areas.
