This year's Standon Calling has announced the latest art installastions and attractions that will be at the Gods & Monsters themed festival.

A giant interactive game will happen over the festival weekend featuring performance and theatre from the Heritage Arts Company allow festival-goers to immerse them selves in the Gods & Monsters theme. Attendees can track monsters, hunt relics and participate in dubious nocturnal rituals. Standon Callers can also take a Monster Safari featuring an aircraft simulation, improvised comedy and free shots of tequila.

Howard Marks is headlining the Under Covers Literary Lounge, which will feature Literary DeathMatch contest and their first-ever Bad Sex Awards. Puppetry, storytelling and the now infamous Sock Wrestling comes courtesy of Spoken Ink. There will also be space-hopper races, a Hellhound Show (think dog show with fire) and a Rolling Stage featuring rockaoke, cabaret and performances from festival goers.

Standon Callers will also be able to learn something at the Festival School including how to beatbox, how to make jewellery, create comics, give a sensuous massage, write songs or even play the ukulele.

The centrepiece of the festival site will be a giant obelisk and the on-site nightclub in a cowshed will be transformed into the Monster's Lair. There will be a Garden of Healing chill-out area featuring massage and more, a Goddess Grooming Parlour, a Zombie Marketplace, Psycho-Cinema and a Where the Wild Things Are area with loads for kids to do including reggae nursery rhymes, pinata smashing and a badge-making machine.

This year the swimming pool on site will be the centre of all types of activity including Heathen Baptisms and poolside Pagan Pilates. Art installations around the site include giant sculptures festival goers can paint on and a Wisdom Tree,/b> where festival goers can pick up nuggets of wisdom or simply leave a message for their mates.

Headlining will be Spiritualized on Saturday night, and Battles Friday. Also on the bill are Hercules And Love Affair, Howard Marks, John Grant, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Dan Le Sac, Broken Records, Egyptian Hip Hop, The Mummers, Sound Of Rum, Gallops, Revere, Funeral Suits, Worship, Cut a Shine, The Travelling Band, The Moulettes, Penguin Cafe, John Cooper Clarke, Saul Williams, Errors, Caravan Palace, The Correspondents, Born Ruffians, Trophy Wife, Malachai, Brassroots, The Raghu Dixit Project, Various Cruelties, Silver Moths, Tripwires, and Maddox. With many more still to be announced.

Standon Calling will be held on the grounds of a 16th Century Hertfordshire manor house from Thursday 11th to Sunday 14th August 2011. An adult weekend ticket with camping is priced at £120, a teen (13-17) ticket is priced at £100, children aged 12 and under can go free. Car parking tickets are priced at £5.
