The Fall, The Joy Formidable, and Herman Dune are amongst the first 50 acts for Cardiff's Swn Festival which takes place from Thursday 20th October to Sunday 23rd October have been announced.

The Fall
Swn expands to a four day showcase of some of the best music from Wales and from around the world alongside DJs, film and art, held throughout Cardiff. The event, started by DJ Huw Stephens, takes place in Cardiff this year across the evening of Thursday 20th October and Friday 21st October then through the days and nights of Saturday 22nd October and Sunday 23rd October, with over 200 bands performing.

The first 50 acts to be announced include Among Brothers, And So I Watch You From Afar, Apostles, Ashtray Navigations, Al Lewis, Barefoot Dance of the Sea, Battlekat, Ben Howard, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Bleeding Heart Narrative, Chailo Sim, Colorama, Creatures of Love, Daughter, Dots., Eagulls, Echo Lake, Effort, Elephant, Elephant Stone, Gavin Osborn, Herman Dune, H.Hawkline, Houdini Dax, Jen Jeniro, Joseph & David, and Lets Buy Happiness.

They are joined on the bill by Mammal Club, Masters in France, Mowbird, Olympians, Pandas and People, Patterns, Rapids!, Red City Radio, Right Hand, Left Hand, Samoans, Team Sports, The Cut Ups, The Fall, The Joy Formidable, The Victorian English Gentlemens Club, The History Of Apple Pie, The Keys, The Method, Theo, Town, Trwbador, Ultra Humanitarian, and Zervas and Pepper. Tickets are priced at £49.50 for a 4-day pass. A Saturday Stroller priced at £25, a Friday Stroller priced at £16, a Thursday Stroller priced at £10, and a sunday only ticket is priced at £20. To buy 4-day Wristband passes, or day tickets click here.

The festival uses a wristband system which offers free access to as many shows as possible, plus art exhibitions, film and more. A wristband also entitles the wearer to discounts in stores in Cardiff (to be confirmed), and free rides on the Swn buses across town over the main Swn weekend.

The event will feature bands from both Wales and across the world, as well as DJs, film and art. There will be lots of different genres from hip hop to indie, folk, dance and rock. Other events expected at the festival include a silent disco, cinema, workshops, and art exhibitions.
