Jessie J cancels forthcoming festival appearances

Singer Jessie J, who appeared at last weekend's Glastonbury Festival with a cast over her foot after breaking it in two places, has had to undergo emergency surgery. Due to the nature of the injury, and under strict orders from her doctor she will not be able to perform for a number of weeks so she can heal and recuperate properly.

The festivals affected are T In The Park, Oxegen, Lovebox, as well as appearances at Orange Rock Corps, T4 On The Beach, i-Tunes Festival, Radio Aire Party In The Park, Key 103 Summertime Live, Summer Sonic Japan, and Digester Event Stockholm. It is hoped she will recover in time for Big Chill, and the twin V Festivals.

The singer is extremely upset and has sent the following message to all her fans, "Sorry doesn't feel enough to say, I am devastated for my fans that I know have been waiting to see me and working hard for tickets. I was so excited about the summer and I'm as upset as you all are. But unfortunately these things happen. I have to remain positive and I promise I will make it up later in the year."

Scotland's T in the Park Festival Director Geoff Ellis commented, "I am gutted. She was someone I was really looking forward to seeing and I'm sure a lot of T in the Parkers were too. We wish her a speedy recovery and hope to welcome her next year."
