This weekend's Beacons Festival which was due to takes place from Friday 12th until Sunday 14th August 2011 at Heslaker Farm, Near Skipton, in North Yorkshire has been cancelled.
A statement from the organisers says:
"It is with sincere regret that the organisers of Beacons Festival 2011, due to be staged at Heslaker Farm, Skipton, have had to announce its cancellation. Due to severe adverse weather, the event site is no longer considered to be safe for a public audience in the opinion of the authorities.The event which was set to replace the The Moor Music Festival was due to be headlined by Tom Vek with Jamie Woon,Jamie xx, Summer Camp, Toddla T, Frankie & The Heartstrings, Ghostpoet, Mr Scruff, Willy Mason, Mount Kimbie, Dels, The Phantom Band, The Twilight Sad, Polar Bear, The Cave Singers, Emmy The Great, Factory Floor, Dry The River, The Apples, Pearson Sound, Anika, Hudson Mohawke, Wolf People, Iliketrains, Dananananaykroyd, and many more also confirmed to appear.
Please do not come to the site, further announcements will be made later today. Please hold on to all tickets and receipts for the time being.
