Coldplay's headline performance at this summer's Glastonbury Festival has been voted as the listeners of BBC Radio 6 Music favourite festival headliner of 2011 in an online poll.

Listeners of the station choose from a list of 21 acts who performed at festivals including Glastonbury, T In The Park, Latitude, Reading and Leeds, V Festival, The Big Chill, Isle of Wight, and Bestival, the Saturday night Glastonbury headliners came out top.
Ohio based band The National took second place with their Latitude set and Muse came in third with their set which featured playing their second album, 'Origin of Symmetry' in full, at Reading and Leeds Festival.
The reformed Pulp were well received by audiences gaining fourth place with their appearance at Reading and Leeds and The Cure came in fifth for their only European performance of 2011 at Bestival.
DJ Shaun Keaveny said of Coldplay's winning performance: "To witness Coldplay at Glastonbury this year was like welcoming an old mate back to your local pub. Coldplay are as at home on the Pyramid Stage as any band on the planet - and effortlessly pounded the crowd into a euphoric singalong. New songs and old songs all flowed into one as the sun set on a glorious Glasto Saturday evening."

Glastonbury Festival takes a year out in 2012 and returns in 2013 and will take place from Wednesday 26th until Sunday 30th June 0213. Registration for Glastonbury Festival 2013 is now open. Everyone who plans to the come the Festival must register, and that includes children aged 13, 14 and 15. Each ticket sold will feature a photograph of the person in whose name it is registered and will be non-transferable. So if you plan to buy tickets for friends or family you must make sure they all register!
Registration does not reserve or guarantee you a ticket when they go on sale some time in 2012, exact date to be confirmed, but if you don't register you will not be able to buy a weekend ticket for Glastonbury Festival 2013. If you opt to save this information you will be able to use your registration number again in future years. Make sure the e-mail address you provide is one to which you will have long term access.
