The Prodigy confirmed for Download 2012

The Prodigy are third headliner for next summer's 10th Anniversary of Download at Donington Park over the weekend of Friday 8th to Sunday 10th June 2012.

Download have announced that dance veterans The Prodigy are coming back to Download in 2012 to make the 'Warrior's Dance', and have promised to deliver their most energetic and spectacular performance they've ever put on at Donington.

The band of Liam Howlett, Keef Flint, Maxim announced, "we have chosen to headline download festival as our only UK festival show next year and will be playing some new songs for the first time from our next album due later 2012 ........ see you there. Liam, Keef & Maxim".

The other previously announced headliners are Metallica who will be playing their fifth studio album - the untitled 'Black Album' in it's entirety as Saturday night Download headliners and a reformed Black Sabbath will headline Sunday.

Andy Copping, VP of Promotions at Live Nation said, "We're very excited to welcome The Prodigy back to Donington, it's great to have them here for the third time and this time headlining the main stage. The crowds always go mental when The Prodigy are in town. The band never fail to impress, and it's going to be one hell of a weekend."

There are no other acts currently confirmed for 2012. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow, at 9am on Friday 18th November. Weekend ticket prices for Download 2012 will remain the same as the prices for Download 2011 until midday Monday 30th January 2012 when all ticket types will go off sale. All tickets will go back on sale at 5pm Monday 30th January 2012 with Weekend tickets increased to 2012 prices.

Weekend arena tickets with 3 nights camping will be priced at £180, a five nights camping weekend ticket will be priced at £190 and offers access to the Download camp site from midday Wednesday, and a weekend only ticket without camping is priced at £155. Lockers are priced at £12.50, car parking £15 in advance (motorbikes are free), campervan supplements are priced at £60, and VIP packages will also be available. Day tickets will be available at a later date.

NB: Kids aged 12 or under will be eligible for concession rate tickets for Download 2011. These can be purchased on the day from the on-site Box Office and availability of these will be unlimited. A kids weekend arena ticket will be priced at £75, with a kids' 5 night camping ticket an additional £15 or for 3 nights £10.
