Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band are the first headlining act to be announced for the Netherlands' Pinkpop Festival.

Bruce last performed at the 40th anniversary of Pinkpop in 2009, and returns to Landgraaf to make his only appearance in the Benelux, closing the festival on the main stage on the Monday night.

It will be the first tour of Bruce Springsteen and his band without saxophonist Clarence Clemons. Clarence passed away last summer at age 69 of a heart attack.

Pinkpop Festival is an annual rock festival held in the city of Landgraaf, 134 miles from Amsterdam, near the city of Heerlen and situated in the most South bound province of Limburg, Netherlands. It is held annually on the Whitsun weekend (Pinksteren in Dutch, hence the name), the 43nd edition will be held from Saturday 26th until Monday 28th May 2012.

The festival has a capacity of 60,000 and three days of music on three stages. Ticket prices have not yet been confirmed, expects around 150 euros, and tickets will go on sale on Saturday 3rd March 2012.
