Beth Jeans Houghton & The Hooves Of Destiny, Hadouken!, Cloud Control, YasmIn lead the first acts announced for the line-up for February's Next Big Thing Festival.

2012 sees the third annual Next Big Thing expand to include nearly 200 artists to perform at 9 UK venues and run between Friday 2nd and Sunday 12th February 2012. The event extends nationwide to more hmv/MAMA owned venues outside London next year, including Manchester's hmvRitz for the first time, and Birmingham' hmv Institute and Edinburgh's hmv Picturehouse and features artists representing different genres, from singer-songwriters and indie-rock bands to urban and pop through to crossover classical talent.

Next Big Thing Festival is an annual festival from hmv and MAMA Group. The festival offers a platform for a new generation to showcase and celebrates breakthrough artists drawn from across the music spectrum in the UK and internationally with a line-up that also includes Sound Of Guns, Virginmarys, We Are Augustines, Reckless Love, Fatoumata Diawara, Field Music, Loick Essien, Eugene McGuinness, Bluey Robinson, Belleruche, Sweet Billy Pilgrim, King Charles, Little Comets, The Heavy, Missing Andy, Murkage, Marlon Roudette, DJ Fresh, Juan Zelada, Chimp Spanner, Atticus Anthem, Toy, Tom Williams & The Boat, All The Young, Dry The River, Sonic Boom Six, Emeli Sande, Delilah, Foy Vance, 22, Young Guns, The Dunwells, The History Of Apple Pie, Clement Marfo & the Frontline, Evile, Elephant, Jake Morley, and The War on Drugs.

Next Big Thing Festival is an annual festival from hmv and MAMA Group. The festival offers a platform for a new generation to showcase and celebrates breakthrough artists drawn from across the music spectrum in the UK and internationally to play at some of London's historic live music venues.

Nine hmv/MAMA-owned venues around the UK: six in London – the Borderline, Camden Barfly, Heaven, the Jazz Café, the Garage and Upstairs at the Garage, and also outside of the capital at Birmingham's hmv Institute, the hmv Picturehouse in Edinburgh and, for the first time, Manchester's hmv Ritz.

Next Big Thing's charity partner this year will be Teenage Cancer Trust.

Each venue will host at least three acts per night and all gigs will be priced at £10, whichever the venue and whoever the artist bill.
