T in the Park 2011 |
Perth and Kinross Council approved a request to vary the terms of the public entertainment licence, and increase the number of day tickets by 10,000 which will bring the overall capacity on the Friday up to the same level of 85,000 that is permitted on Saturday and Sunday.
The agreement means that the site will be slightly re-designed to provide for the extra capacity, with a former car park now being used to extend camping facilities with The Slam tent also being relocated.
A limited release of T in the Park tickets went on sale a week ago with around 42,500 tickets went in under five hours. T in the Park recently announced The Stone Roses as the first headline act for the 85,000 capacity event with no other acts have been confirmed. The entire festival bill will be announced over the coming months.
T in the Park will be back at Balado in 2012 from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th July with early entry available on Thursday 5th July. Expect a line-up of around 180 artists to play over 11 stages. There are no acts confirmed yet for 2012.
The final batch of T in the Park tickets will go on general sale in February 2012, and eFestivals will have links to buy them then.
