Snow Patrol's lead singer Gary Lightbody is quoted as saying, "I wouldn't want to say anything to dispel or confirm those rumours. You didn't get it from me."
The Maccabees frontman Orlando Weeks is also quoted, "In the next couple of weeks, everything gets confirmed. We've always had amazing times at T so it would be really good to come back."
The Daily Record adds that a music industry insider told them, "T in the Park organisers are desperately busy trying to bring the best line-up they have ever had to Balado and bands like Snow Patrol and Maccabees have been on their radar for 2012. But the beauty is in the detail and until these bands put pen to paper and dot every i and cross every t, the festival bosses won't say a peep."
The reformed Stone Roses are the first headline act confirmed with no other acts announced. The entire festival bill will be announced over the coming months.
T in the Park will be back at Balado in 2012 from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th July with early entry available on Thursday 5th July. Expect a line-up of around 180 artists to play over 11 stages.
A limited release of T in the Park tickets went on sale last year with around 42,500 tickets went in under five hours. Full prices have not yet been announced. The final batch of T in the Park tickets will go on general sale at 9am on Wednesday 29th February 2012, and eFestivals will have links to buy them then.
