To celebrate its 10th anniversary this year, day tickets will be going on sale early this year for Download and will be available to purchase from 9am today, Friday 17th February.

There are also more acts added to the line-up, the latest additions are Killswitch Engage, Shinedown, Black Veil Brides, NoFX, Opeth, and Nightwish.

Download promoter Andy Copping said, "This year's Download is going from strength to strength and the line up is shaping up nicely. We've had a phenomenal reaction to weekend tickets, and have decided to go on sale with day tickets early. Happy days!"

With 16 weeks until the heavy rock festival opens it's gates, day tickets go on sale priced at £75 for any day, and can be bought from the links below from 9am.

This year's Download will also see the debut of the 'RIP Metal Hotel', an indoor 'pop up' hotel located on the festival site. Each room will have two beds, thermostatic climate control, an en-suite wet room with toilet, basin and shower, storage space, a flat screen TV, and secure card entry. All rooms will be serviced with with quality linen, towels and toiletries by dedicated Metal Hotel personnel, as well as offering continental breakfast. Rooms will be available shortly.

Download which takes place at Donington Park over the weekend of Friday 8th to Sunday 10th June 2012 with The Prodigy headline the Friday, Metallica Saturday playing their untitled 'black album' in it's entirety, and Black Sabbath will headline Sunday. A weekend arena ticket with 3 nights camping is priced at £180, a five nights camping weekend ticket are priced at £190 and offers access to the Download camp site from midday Wednesday, and a weekend only ticket without camping is priced at £145. Lockers are priced at £12.50, car parking £15 in advance (motorbikes are free), campervan supplements were priced at £60 and have sold out, and VIP packages are also available (VIP camping has already sold out). Day tickets will be available at a later date.
