Blur announced for Sweden's Way Out West

Blur are the latest act to be announced for Way Out West takes place in Gothenburg, Sweden from Thursday 9th until Saturday 11th August 2012.

In 2009 Blur reconvened as a four-piece to play a series of UK shows including two sold out dates at Hyde Park and a historic Sunday night appearance at Glastonbury. A film about Blur, No Distance Left To Run, was released in 2010. The band have confirmed their only UK date this year is at the closing Olympics Ceremony in Hyde Park.

The event hosts national and international acts at venues all over the city; rock clubs, nightclubs, churches, theaters and cultural centers are all used to showcase breaking and more established acts as part of the festivals club concept, Stay Out West.

The main festival takes place in the 137 hectare park of Slottsskogen in Gothenburg on the Friday and Saturday of the festival weekend. Other acts perform at various venues in and around central Gothenburg on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

The first acts confirmed are The Black Keys, Refused, Bon Iver, Florence + The Machine, Feist, First Aid Kit, Thurston Moore, St Vincent, Billy Bragg, Azealia Banks, A$AP Rocky, Deportees, Yelawolf, The War on Drugs, King Krule, and Iceage.
