Stockton Weekender organisers, Tees Music Alliance (TMA), have confirmed that the first day of the festival will be a FREE event.

This year's 3 day festival happening from Friday 3rd until Sunday 5th August 2012 will see tribute act Beatlemania headlining the free Friday. More acts are still to be announced but it's a guaranteed night of classic songs and sing-a-longs.

Festival Director, Paul Burns, said "There's a great mix of household names and up and coming acts in this years line up, which we’re really happy with. We're delighted to have got Jake Bugg, as he's causing a real buzz at the moment. Having such a strong local representation is really important and we couldn't be prouder of the talent that will be on show over the weekend."

Also appearing at Stockton Riverside Park are the previously announced The Pogues, James, We Are Scientists, The Go! Team, Simon & Oscar (Ocean Colour Scene Acoustic), Willy Mason, Hyde & Beast, Chased by Wolves, Alun Cochrane and The New Rope String Band. The full line up will be announced shortly.

Day tickets are priced at £15, and parking an additional £10, under 14s free. A valid ticket is required for anyone aged 14 years or older; children under this age will be admitted free (up to 2 children per adult ticket holder) but must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Ticket prices will increase in price from Tuesday 1st May onwards. To buy tickets, click here.
