News for those travelling to the Isle of Wight Festival today is that heavy traffic congestion on the Isle of Wight back to the Fishbourne port, means cars bound for the festival are being parked up and forced to wait for organisers to solve the problem.

eFestivals has just been contacted by festival goers currently stranded at Fishbourne Port as ferry bosses Wightlink have responded to problems with mud in the parking areas at the festival which have caused hold ups by preventing cars from being able to get to the festival site from the port, as Newport is "at a standstill", according to our reporter. However, on the plus side, the weather is just lifting and there's a patch of blue sky visible over the festival site.

A statement on Wightlink's website says:
"Problems with mud in the parking areas on the Isle of Wight Festival site have caused heavy traffic congestion on the Isle of Wight back to our Fishbourne port, meaning we are unable to discharge traffic into the port. We will be shipping customers as soon as possible.

"Please bear with us whilst the Festival organisers make alternative arrangements which should ease the congestion on the Island."
