The Magic Carpet Ride will be an easy to access travelator of epic proportions which will help those with weary BoomTown legs access the whole site.

The 300ft moving carpet ride will help rambling residents climb the step gradient of the 'hippy highway'. Site changes and the expansion of the town's areas or districts from last year means big changes are planned for the city's layout with the Lion's Den, Oldtown, The Town Centre and Mayfair Avenue all moving out of the bowl and up to the top.

So the Town Mayor plans to introduce a flying carpet for residents and tourists alike to take the strain off their dancing shoes and soak up the breathtaking vista of the BoomTown's cityscape. Festival goers must purchase a weekend pass for £10 to use this easy-breezy form of transportation.

Also new for BoomTown 2013 is the new epic 15 metre high Lion's Den Mayan Temple. Organisers explain, "The recent unearthing of gigantic temple has meant that the Lion's Den sunshine tunes and daylight dancing can be moved to its rightful home amongst the great and the good of roots reggae culture! For the full video of the unbelievable unearthing of such an ancient discovery head to BoomTown Discovery Channel here..."

Also added to the Town is the brand new Barrio Loco with The Mexican mariachi's of El Barrio Loco hoping to become THE new party hotspot in town, with the influx of 'Ciro Baile's' explosive and energetic circus mixed with back to back fiestas, side-show shenanigans, spicy senorita's and sensational salsa showdowns.

And in other news the Arcadia Spider will be moving even further into the depths of the DownTown district and take up residence in the centre of DownTown.

The fifth year of the festival with an on going narrative for around 30,000 festivalgoers takes place at Matterley Bowl, nr. Winchester, in Hampshire and will run from Thursday 8th until Sunday 11th August 2013.

The story progresses as BoomTown received city status last year, and the new city has flourished and prospered with a steady influx of new settlers from all over the globe, resulting in the birth of new districts, and a morphing of the old ones.

BoomTown's Mayor had no other option but to split the city and give attendees the choice to align themselves with their preferred district, and pick their allegiance and choose a district to be part of in this fully immersive festival experience.

Lak Mitchell and Chris Rutherford, BoomTown Fair Directors said, "After listening to the overall consensus of the BoomTown massive from last year, it was clear that what people really wanted was a device to ensure less time spent marching up the hill and more time spent on dancing! So the people have spoken and we have listened! We've pulled out all the stops to make this happen and are stupidly excited to be the first festival in the UK to have a Ski-lift running though our festival!"

There are no acts confirmed yet for 2013. BoomTown offers a weekend of cabaret, gypsy, folk, reggae, dub and more within the confines of a whole 'pop up' city with multiple venues, and loads of stuff for kids young and old, maybe even a ski lift or two!

Early bird tickets sold out in 5 minutes. Tier four tickets are now available priced at £124, plus a £10 eco bond deposit - part of the 'keep the town tidy' scheme. A teen (13-17 years) ticket is priced at £85, a child ticket (6-12 years) is priced at £20, and children under 6 can go free but need a ticket.

This year the town mayor has launched a new initiative, aiming to give something back to the wider community, with the option to donate £2 available at the time of buying your ticket. This money will be collected in the Boom Pot and handed over to a number of charities in the local community.
