'Young Hearts Run Free' American soul and gospel singer Candi Staton will headline Saturday headliner for The Mostly Jazz, Funk & Soul Festival which returns to the surroundings of Moseley Park, Birmingham from Friday 5th until Sunday 7th July 2013.
Other acts recently confirmed include Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Hiatus Kaiyote, Yes King, Jess Roberts, Greg Bird & Flamingo Flame, BJ Smith, The Soul Circle Gang, Lokkhi Terra, Snarky Puppy, Gogo Penguin, The Initiative, and Mammal Hands.
Friday is headlined by Bonobo with Sunday headliner confirmed as Chic featuring Nile Rodgers, also announced are Stubborn Heart, Troumaca, Soul II Soul, and Craig Charles for the line-up across two stages.
The festival will have two stages side by side, the second of which will feature up and coming talent. There will also be films, artist talks, music workshops, jazz dance performances, live comedy and spoken word.
An early bird adult day ticket is priced at £35 for Friday, and £37 for Saturday or Sunday, and weekend tickets are priced at £85. Tickets for children aged 12-15 years (when accompanied by a paying adult) are priced at £15 for a Friday, Saturday or Sunday day ticket, or £35 for a weekend ticket. Children aged under 12 go free when accompanied by a paying adult. Family weekend (£180) and two day ticket options are also available.
