The first edition of Pearl Festival, a new 3 day psychedelic music event taking place over three days on the bank holiday weekend from Saturday 24th until 6pm Monday 26th August 2013 will happen at a new location Houghton Hall in Norfolk (having moved away from Heane Wood, Shepway, in Kent). The same place Glade Festival occured at last year.

A statement from organisers says,

"After a lot of careful consideration and some unsurmoutable problems with our original venue which was based in Kent we have taken the decision to change the venue for Pearl Festival 2013.
We have been working tirelessly behind the scenes over recent weeks in order to make sure we find a suitable and sustainable venue for our event moving forwards, and one where Pearl Festival can grow in the future.
We understand that many of you have bought tickets for our previous Kent based venue. For these ticket holders we will be providing free transport from designated venues in London and the South East where the travel distance will be considerably increased."

Organisers have also announced the addition of the Subterania Stage - a new home for techno, psy-breaks and alternative beats.  The stage first appeared at the Glade 2012 event when it was called the Meteor Stage and looks like a giant crashed spaceship.  At Pearl it's been rebranded and will host alternative beat sets from the UK underground music scene including Hedflux, Atomic Drop, Ans, Ben Coda, Simon Baring, Ed Real, Tongue & Groove, IPcress, Geo, Lurk, Tom Real, and many more to be announced.

They join Ajja, Altruism, Ambidextrous, AMD, Aphid Moon, Asimilon, Avalon, Bombax, Burn in Noise, Chromatone, Dala, Dick Trevor, Digital Talk, Dirty Saffi, Earthling, Electric Universe, Everblast, Flooting Grooves, Full Face, Gaspard, G'noo, Headroom, Ital, Justin Chaos, Killerwatts, Laughing Buddha, Lost and Found, Master Blasters, Menog, Nuky, Pogo, Psymmetrix, Rinkadink, Satchel, Shotu, Stretch, Thatha, Tristan, Tron, and Yab Yum.

Tickets are priced at £80 including camping. Child under 14 years of age tickets are priced at £20. Cars & Camper-vans will be charged £10. To buy tickets, click here.

The theme for the festival is 'The White Magic Forest' with a number of world renowned artists creating decor, visual pieces and installations to advocate and acknowledge the massive contribution that art, creativity and expression have made to the Psytrance movement.
