SJM Concerts together with curators and creators Ben Turner & Rob da Bank have announced a brand new festival LEAF which is an electronic arts festival held at various venues across London from Thursday 7th until Sunday 10th November 2013.
Ben Turner & Rob da Bank, LEAF curators and creators said, "London has defined a genre. It may not have invented electronic music, but it gave it a global focal point for decades. Its influence from DJ-s to parties, flyers to technology platforms has been pivotal to the durability and the inventiveness of this scene. LEAF aims to bring all of this together for the very first time in the capital. This is our way of giving something back to a city that helped shape our entire working lives."
LEAF will showcase London's heritage in electronic music. Through a series of talks, technology masterclasses, installations, screenings, parties and performances, LEAF will explore the legacy of London as a pioneering figure in the global electronic music movement focusing on how the genre has influenced visual art, film and live music.
The line-up will include Major Lazer, William Orbit (talk and live performance), (talk), Trentemoller, Dinos Chapman (AV installation + talk), The Bloody Beetroots, and Omar Souleyman.
Plus an exclusive event inside the Festival Hub for ticket holders featuring Eats Everything, MK, Rob da Bank, and Happa.
The central creative venue, the LEAF Hub will be located at the Shoreditch Electric Light Station and host workshops, exhibitions, master-classes and talks, including Giorgio Moroder in conversation (+ a UK exclusive DJ set) , and New Order talking about the influence of Ibiza on the recording of their 1989 Technique album.
The event will also host the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Daniel Miller's A-Z Of Electronic Music, Eclair Fifi’s Detroit Special with Kevin Saunderson & Eddie Fowlkes, Arthur Baker / Horse Meat Disco, Introducing... The Wolf, Food By Seth Troxler, & Ryan Crosson's Smokey Tales.
Across the capital, LEAF will stage shows in London venues and warehouse spaces including Brixton Academy, The Forum, Village Underground, and the Oval Space.
Tickets are priced at £65 for a LEAF 4 day festival pass allowing access to all daytime talks and evening events, or £30 for a day pass, with tickets also available for stand-alone ticketed events.
