Louisiana-based sludgemeisters Down have been announced as Friday night headliners of next summer's Bloodstock Open Air taking place from Thursday 7th until Sunday 10th August at Catton Hall, Walton-on-Trent, in South Derbyshire.
Fronted by the larger than life Philip Anselmo the band are planning to release ‘Down IV: Part 2’, the second in the band’s series of EPs next year, and Philip Anselmo is looking forward to headlining Bloodstock, saying,“We are more than elated to be a part of Bloodstock Festival this coming year! This should be a blast, and I hope everyone shows up to support this great event!"
Bassist, Pat Bruders added, “I’m looking forward to another great time at Bloodstock Festival! When I was there two years ago with Crowbar, it was a blast! Down is getting ready to tear it up at Bloodstock in 2014, so get ready people! Let’s bring it!!!!!"
Next year sees the previously announced Emperor headline Saturday night at Bloodstock with their only UK performance. There are no other acts confirmed yet for 2014.
As well as the international heavy metal bands across four stages, Bloodstock will offer a large selection of merchandise stalls, metal karaoke, a campsite and a wide selection of food and bars.
Early bird tickets are priced at £115 for adults with camping, and car parking is priced at £16, child (aged 4 - 11 years) tickets are priced at £35, and campervan passes priced at £45. Day tickets are expected to be on sale at a later date. VIP options available at a later date.
