The Blockheads, Steve Ignorant & Paranoid Visions, and Swamp Delta will be taking to the main stage at the 7th year Bearded Theory festivalnext year happening at Catton Hall, in Derbyshireon Bank Holiday weekend with music starting from Thursday 22nd until Sunday 25th May 2014.
The Blockheads fronted by Derek 'The Draw' Hussey, remember the new wave music of their bandleader Ian Dury playing all the old favourites including 'Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick', 'What A Waste', 'Reasons To Be Cheerful Part 3', 'Wake Up And Make Love With Me', 'Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll', and 'Sweet Gene Vincent'.
Steve Ignorant, formerly of Crass, joins long running Irish punk band, Paranoid Visions to celebrate over thirty years of punk with their new colaboration.
Swamp Delta are the new project of Gaye Bykers On Acid Music and Crazyhead.
They join the first acts to be confirmed are Fishbone, Oysterband, Anti-Vigilante, 3 Daft Monkeys, The Membranes, King Prawn, Leatherat, The True Deceivers, The Karma Party, Tarantism, Colm Gray, Babyhead, New Groove Formation, The Sporadics, The Autonomads, Black Star Dub Collective, Boot Hill All Stars, Doghouse Boat Boys, Dynamite Pussy Club, Funke and the Two Tone Baby, Just James, Poor Old Dogs, Rusty Shackle, Sean McGowan, and Peter Hook and The Ligh performing a Joy Division and New Order classic set.
Tickets are now on general sale, with the price of a family ticket cheaper than it was in 2013. A payment plan is available to spread the cost and – representing even further value for money – Bearded Theory remains one of a dwindling number of festivals where the audience can take their own drink into the concert areas.
Every year Bearded Theory attempts to break the world record for the most amount of people wearing a fancy dress beards in one place and at one time. This year the event has a 9,999 capacity but attendance will be capped at 8,000.
A weekend camping with Thursday ticket is priced at £87. A 12-15 year old weekend ticket is priced at £45, a child's aged 6-11 weekend tickets is priced at £25 whether for arrival on Thursday or Friday, children aged 5 and under are free and Family Tickets are priced at £220 (2 x adult & 2 x children). All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
There will a charge for car parking of £10. A live in vehicle ticket is priced at £30.
