Leftfield have stepped in as last minute replacements for headliner Grandmaster Flash at this weekend's The Forgotten World - the UK’s largest Halloween party and only Halloween festival which runs from Friday, 25th October to Saturday, 26th October at Rosuick Camel Farm, in Cornwall.

The team who also run the summer Masked Ball, received a statement from Grandmaster Flash's US management indicating that he would be unable to attend the Halloween bash in the deep Cornish south due to an unexpected change of circumstance in his work schedule in the US.

Organisers said, "This was received with great regret by us and his agent in the UK, and we immediately looked at several options to compensate his absence. Obviously with such short notice it has been incredibly difficult to secure a replacement headline act. We have been frantically working logistics including air charters with agents in the UK but being the most westerly festival site in the UK, getting an act here at such short notice has been extremely difficult."

However at the last minute it's been revealed that filling Grandmaster Flash's slot in The Forgotten World with a DJ setwill be Leftfield. "I'm so excited about playing The Ball and especially the stage set up in The Forgotten World...it sounds amazing - Can't wait!!" said Neil Barnes of Leftfield.

The line up of the Halloween Masked Ball features frightfully freaky sets from Phil Hartnoll, Sister Bliss, Drums of Death, Daft Funk, Greg Wilson, Electric Rescue and John Askew - alongside 40 of the South West's DJs. The creepy party starts on Friday, October 25, with Slamboree Sound System, a silent disco and a screening of The Exorcist, in the woods.

Tickets are priced at £35 for the weekend.

Keeping in with the Masked Ball tradition of high production values, the rave to the grave takes place over nine themed areas including  a brand new venue to the Masked Ball. Holy Ship! Is a large undercover area themed on a 17th century galleon ship - complete with decks, rigging and a figurehead. The cargo is a treasure trove of top production and an exciting line-up of DJs to be announced very soon.

This new area joins Carni-hell, the unfair fairground where you won’t need to scream if you wanna go faster. This is a complete fairground in the woods with a horror maze curated by Kernow Scare Attractions. Expect a belter helterskelter, a ghostrain, a spooky funhouse, a strongman striker, stalls (where you can win booze and candy floss), a coconut shy (where the coconuts are full of rum) and a palm reading experience.

There’s the Barn Of Horror, complete with a mind-bending visual show, a Rave Yard complete with a crashed UFO, Death by Disco, Voodoo Swamp, Hell’s Kitchen and The Cardinal Sin Village. The Chapel of Rest offers a respite from the madness offering an area of sofas and comfy chairs, complete with table service by naughty nuns and wicked vicars.

Another new addition is a range of onsite accommodation, including newly constructed hobbit huts.

The lockable hobbit huts sleep two and have heating, furniture and mains power and form part of a hobbit village. A hobbit village with 24-hour security, hot showers and access to exclusive VIP areas. There are also bell tents and tipis for hire, also with heating and electric.

The masked ball actively raises money for a number of local causes including the Porthleven Christmas Lights Fund, Surfers Against Sewage, St Kevern Christmas Lights, and The Pants Charity based in Falmouth. It now runs three events a year and receives no sponsorship or public finance. Each year, The Masked Ball donates upwards of £5,000 to local charities and good causes.

This is an over 18s only event.
