Blue haired Lucy Ward has just been added to the line-up for Bristol Folk Festival which returns to May Day Bank Holiday running on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th May 2014 at two new venues – St Georges Bristol and Bristol Folk House.
Fast rising singer-songwriter Lucy has just been nominated for ‘Folk Singer of the Year’ for The 2014 BBC Folk Awards 2014. Lucy Ward will be joined by her new band. The band is comprised of Belinda O’Hooley and Heidi Tidow on Keys and Vocals, orchestral fiddler Joy Gravestock, bassist Sam Pegg and Steve Maclachlan of ‘The Willows’ who will also be performing at the festival.
She joins the previously announced acts led by Fairport Convention, and Spiers & Boden plus Gaz Brookfield, Jim Moray, Martha Tilston, Hannah James & Sam Sweeney, Paper Aeroplanes, Baxter Rhodes, Josienne Clark & Ben Walker, The Hut People, Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin, The Bookshop Band, The Black Feathers, Fabian Holland, Folklaw, The Willows, Matthew & Me, and Bad Cardigan.
The festival will also feature Morris dancers, mummers and maypoles, ceilidhs,and singalong sessions.
Festivalgoers can be guaranteed no wet weather problems as the whole event will take place on four stages. As well as the Main Stages at St George’s and the Folk House, Songs From The Shed will also be hosting their own stage, and organisers are also introducing the brand new Kidnap Stage.
Early bird tickets are priced at £55 for both days plus booking fee.
